Commerce équitable / Fair Trade : Ecocert (news)

Ecocert propose depuis février 2007 une démarche de contrôle et attestation en commerce équitable. L’élaboration du référentiel ESR (pour "échanges Equitables, Solidaires, Responsables") a duré plus d’une année, avec la collaboration active d’un collectif représentatif (constitué d’opérateurs, de représentants des consommateurs, de personnalités qualifiées). Il s’applique aux produits alimentaires, cosmétiques, textiles, services, et reste évolutif. L’objectif est de poser les conditions d’un contrôle tierce partie, efficace, indépendant, garantissant le respect des règles sur toute la filière, pour assurer ainsi la confiance du consommateur.

In February 2007, Ecocert proposed a control and authentication approach for Fair Trade. The creation of the ESR reference, standing for “Fair, in Solidarity, Responsible exchanges”) lasted for more than a year with the active help of a representative group composed of operators, consumers and qualified representatives. This approach applies to food, cosmetics, textiles and services, and is progressive. The goal is to set the conditions of a third party’s control that would be efficient, independent and guarantee adherence to regulations in the entire sector to warrant consumers’ trust.
